Roshae Wilson
My name is Roshae Wilson, and as long as I’ve remembered I’ve been told to be a “strong, independent black woman”, however life has taught me that it’s ok not to be strong all the time and depending on people is just as much strength and it is vulnerability. I’ve always been classed as the strong friend and with this came a plethora of unsaid expectations; I’ve been through it, and I’m going through it.
Putting myself out there and stepping outside of comfort zones has always been a thing for me. I try to allow myself opportunities to be apart of new experiences and they have been equally thrilling and scary simultaneously. I love new things and the opportunity for growth in numerous capacities that they present you with. As much as possible I try to always stand for something and root my decisions in the person I want to become. I’m a big advocate for actively navigating your life; it’s all fun and games going with the wind until it has blown you off the edge of the world.
Allow my twenty-two-year journey to help you on yours ♥️ Roshae is a 2019 Summer Writing Intern at Witted Roots.
